I recently came down with poison oak doing some yard work. Normally I don’t get it but I had broken the skin on my arm and ended up with a pretty bad reaction. After consulting the Young Living “essential oil bible”, I decided to try Frankincense. It immediately calmed the itching and soothed the irritated skin. I’d say it about cut the healing time in half. (This is my personal experience and not meant as a suggestion or diagnosis for cure.)
Peppermint essential oil is also truly a “wonder-cure-all” in my opinion. I keep some with me all the time. Especially when camping, hiking, adventuring in general, (even on tour with my band!). It works very well for me, with itchy bug bites, headaches, stuffy nose, sore muscles, sore throat, cough… Plus I just learned it could repel ticks completely! I’m gonna try this for sure next time I go hiking. (Again not meant as a medical claim for cure or diagnosis.)
The Young Living oils are pretty amazing stuff. Are you using essential oils? I’d love to learn more about how you do. Please share your knowledge and experience here as well by leaving a comment below!
This is a fun little video of a recent hiking trail we were on in west Marin. The music is a jam session with Mark Baker on guitar, TJ Cox on drums and myself on bass. I hope you enjoy!
PS if you’re not using some kind of essential oils contact me to help guide you in the right direction. I’m a distributor for Young Living. 😉
